but wasn't able to put it down this week.
Looking forward to the end of summer camp: much more consistent posting promised!
In other news: our praise team is considering a major change to our worship format. Hm, should I spoil the surprise? Was there any reason to keep it a surprise?
Okay, you heard it here first: we're going to move the bulk of our worship in song towards the end of the service. I was at another service recently where I experienced this, and it struck me how appropriate it was. I was totally able to respond in song based on what God was saying to me during the sermon.
I think our congregation, rather than needing the time of singing to prepare our hearts to receive God's word, will benefit more from a focused time of response (instead of the quick prayer and closing song that we normally do). Although both can be good, I just see the need in our group to head into the time of singing with purpose in our hearts, rather than using the time of singing to prepare to receive that purpose.
What think you?

intriguing.
let me know how it goes!
i liked it a lot. most definitely felt the difference. Grant mentioned about the "new sunday agenda" at small groups but he wouldn't tell me. Truthfully, today i came to UL late so i didn't know what happened before your sermon, but noticed the change. Which also didn't see sam sing today haha.
Yea, anyway. I just stopped by to see if you updated more on your dream sermon. Very interesting.
Talk to you soon PB.
thanks for the feedback. yeah, I think we'll definitely give this a go for the next month or so and see how everybody reacts, how the Spirit moves.
personally, I felt the difference too. I really was able to settle down and just think about what God was saying to me and us as I finished sharing his word. I'm hoping the rest of our people are able to do that too!
posting more stuff on dreams as we speak...
