So at 10 PM, Christmas Night (not eve) in Edmonds, five United Lifers gathered to send four of them on their way to St. Louis and the Urbana Missions Conference which is held there every three years. Here is the story of their journey:
1. Thomas Tae graciously left his Christmas festivities to pick us up at church and take us to SeaTac for our 12:30 AM flight.
2. We made our gate with plenty of time, and had an uneventful first leg of our flight, landing in snowy Minneapolis, Minnesota, at 6 AM Central Time. After being given the "executive tour" by the native Minnesotan of the group, the team boarded the second leg of their flight.
3. We boarded our flight to Kansas City, MO, and ended up sitting on the runway for an extra hour waiting for the deicing crew to unfreeze our airplane. It was no problem for some of us, though, as it gave those who could sleep on airplanes the chance to continue resting.
4. We ended up landing safely in Kansas City "International" (it's a small airport), where we picked up our rental and some authentic Kansas City breakfast (Cook Cafe). With full stomachs, we hit the road for the third leg of our trip, the four hour drive to St. Louis.
5. Once in St. Louis, we settled in to our room, grabbed some gyros and cheese steaks, and prepped our bodies for a long intense week of hearing and receiving God's word by getting in a quick workout.
The conference starts tomorrow. Please keep us in prayer!
